Coinciding with last night’s Tokyo Game Show announcement of the new smaller and lighter PlayStation 3 “super slim”, the official PlayStation Australia website was updated listing the specs and pricing of the new console. But buried within the text was a statement that the PlayStation Store will get a “new look” starting this October, around the same time that the PlayStation Store becomes available for PlayStation Mobile.
To tie in with the launch, PlayStation Store for PS3 is set to get a new look from October 2012 too, making it even easier for you to find and download the content you love from the comfort of your sofa.
Nothing has been formally announced, but the PlayStation Store has long been in need of a drastic overhaul. Having a more “web-style” storefront could do wonders for the PlayStation Store, which is clunky and archaic by today’s standards.
PlayStation Store for PlayStation Mobile launches on October 3rd, so that may provide a hint as to when and if we do eventually see and updated PS3 storefront, as well.
What do you think? Is it time for a PS Store refresh? And if so, is that time now?
