Players in Europe who are still waiting to get their hands on a PS5 console can now sign up on PlayStation Direct to get a chance to purchase one directly from Sony. Those who live in the UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg can now join players in the US in the Register to Buy scheme.
How to Buy a PS5 Console from PlayStation
Players from the seven listed countries can sign in to PlayStation.com with their PSN ID. Once signed in, you have to compete a verification puzzle to confirm you’re not a bot before hitting the Sign Up button. Sony will then select people to purchase a PS5 console. If you’re one of those people, Sony will contact you by e-mail.
The e-mail will include a date and time when you can try to purchase a console through PlayStation Direct. There will also be instructions on how to do that. The purchase window is only open for a short period of time, so make sure you’re quick on the draw. As supplies of PS5 consoles are still extremely limited, an invite doesn’t necessarily guarantee you can buy a console.
PlayStation Direct had their first drop of consoles in Europe earlier today but these sold out fairly quickly. There’s no word on when more consoles will become available although Sony will be sure to notify those who sign up for their next opportunity to grab a PS5. You can also keep an eye on our daily PSLS PS5 Restock Updates for more information on consoles available at other retailers.
In other news, the WWE 2K22 release date, gameplay details and cover have reportedly been leaked ahead of an official announcement from 2K Sports. Elsewhere, PSVR MMO Zenith: The Last City has received a release date and it will arrive before the end of the month.
