PS5 Restock January 17

The PSLS PS5 Restock Update for January 17, 2022

It’s Monday, the start of a brand new week where more PS5 restocks are likely to happen. There are already rumors and leaks about potential PlayStation 5 drops swirling around the internet, with hype levels for upcoming stock beginning to build. Last week, there were multiple big drops, with the final restock happening on Friday, as GameStop sold PS5s at select stores. Hopefully some US readers snagged one. As for UK customers, the wait continues, but there is some news of an Argos drop coming. Read on for the full details in this PSLS PS5 Restock Update for January 17, 2022.

US PS5 Console Restock Update

Today, January 17, 2022, PlayStation is allowing PSN subscribers in the US, UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg to register for an opportunity to purchase a PS5 console directly from the official website. Register here and make sure you have email notifications turned on!

Those desperate to buy a PS5 right now can always head to Ebay, where PS5s are seemingly always in stock. Though there are many listings from scalpers charging shameful amounts, there are also some better deals to be had. Simply filter by “Buy It Now” and “Newly Listed” to find the cheaper options. Implementing a price limit is also recommended.

New PS5 drops at US retailers are expected this week. Every week of 2022 has had restocks so far and the reliable @PS5restocks_etc seems confident about restocks in “the days ahead.”

  • Target – Drop occurred on January 6
  • Walmart – Restock occurred online on January 13
  • Amazon – Restock not yet announced
  • Best Buy – Surprise drop occurred on January 5
  • GameStop – Restock at stores on January 14
  • BJs – Drop happened on January 12
  • PS Direct – PSN users can register for a chance to buy.

The previous PS5 restock happened at select GameStop stores on January 14. Before that, there was an online drop from Walmart on January 13.

PS5s may continue to be out of stock, but many PS5 accessories are still available. Check out the highlights above for ways to further enhance the next-gen console experience.

For UK PS5 stock, PlayStation Direct is currently the place to go. As I type, there’s a drop happening. Both PS5 disc and Digital Edition systems are available for the RRP price. To buy, users must be logged in via their PSN accounts.

Update: PlayStation Direct is now showing PS5 disc and Digital Edition as out of stock.

The BT shop also has PS5 stock. However, it’s only purchasable by BT Broadband customers. Got a BT Broadband account? Then head here to check out the available PS5 consoles and PS5 bundles. At the time of writing, there are still some in stock.

If you don’t have a BT Broadband account and are too late to the PlayStation Direct queue, Argos is the one to watch in the coming weeks, as stock is expected between January 25-28. This is according to @PS5StockAlertUK, who has proven reliable in the past.

Ebay is also an option. It’s worth putting some time into setting up a filter for the maximum price you’re willing to pay, as well as alerts for when new PS5 listings come in. Though the systems are often listed as “Refurbished” or “Used,” the PS5 console is still relatively new and so may have a valid warranty in case anything goes wrong. Do contact the seller for more information as required.

Once you’ve secured a PS5, it’s time to start hunting down the best PS Store gaming deals. This article breaks down all of the best PS Store discounts and highlights some must-play options.

Apex Legends also looks like it’ll be coming soon to the PS5, presumably boasting an overall better resolution alongside a more consistent high frame rate.

One of last year’s biggest PS5 releases, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, still has an undiscovered Easter egg, despite the game launching last June.
