Elden Ring Top UK Charts

Elden Ring Tops UK Charts As Horizon Forbidden West Drops to Second

FromSoftware’s Elden Ring tops the UK boxed sales charts this week, overtaking PlayStation’s Horizon Forbidden West. The PS5 exclusive has now been pushed into second place, putting the new Soulslike at the top of the physical charts for the region.

Elden Ring sales are the best of any Soulslike game

Elden Ring is the fastest-selling retail ‘Souls-like’ game ever and had the third biggest launch of 2022 in the UK so far — behind Horizon Forbidden West and Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Digital sales are expected later this week.

According to Christopher Dring of GamesIndustry.biz, sales are up 26% on Dark Souls 3 (the previous best-selling ‘Souls’ game). George R.R  Martin’s project also narrowly missed out on beating the physical sales for Horizon Forbidden West. Dring also says 63% of Elden Ring’s UK boxed sales were on PlayStation 5, 17% on Xbox, 17% on PS4, with the remaining 3% on PC. It is worth noting, PC and Xbox sales for new titles are largely digital.

As for the rest of the top ten, Pokemon Legends: Arceus drops down to third to make room for the top of the UK charts Elden Ring. However, boxed sales rose 5% from last week. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (fourth) and FIFA 22 (fifth) remain in the top five. Meanwhile, Dying Light 2: Stay Human tumbles down the chart to seventh this week. Grid Legends — another title that was released last week — lines up in eighteenth place. Once more, Grand Theft Auto 5 remains outside the top ten in eleventh. Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition enters the top ten, up four spots from last week.

Here is the full top ten:

  1. Elden Ring
  2. Horizon Forbidden West
  3.  Pokémon Legends: Arceus
  4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  5. FIFA 22
  6. Call of Duty: Vanguard
