Hogwarts Legacy State of Play Release Window

Hogwarts Legacy Finally Gets a Release Window at Today’s State of Play

Hogwarts Legacy finally got its big reveal, and we know approximately when it’ll release. To say it wowed us is an understatement. This is Avalanche Studios’ first big non-Disney project, but it seems like they’re knocking it out of the park from what we saw today.

What’s the release date for Hogwarts Legacy?

Unfortunately, we didn’t get an exact release date today, but we do know Hogwarts Legacy will release sometime during Holiday 2022. So, we can expect it in November or December. It was initially supposed to release sometime in 2021 but was delayed in January 2021 to this year. Obviously, the extra time in the oven has been great for the game because today’s gameplay was really impressive.

Getting a chance to experience life at Hogwarts has been every Harry Potter fan’s dream, and it looks like it’ll finally come true. You’ll have the chance to get sorted into a house, take classes, and explore Hogwarts, it’s grounds, Hogsmeade, and other wizarding world locations. Fortunately, the game is set around a hundred years before the Harry Potter series, so you won’t have to worry about it awkwardly fitting into the events in the films or books.

What we know of the premise so far is that you’ll take the roll of a student who’s getting a late start in their wizard schooling. You start as a fifth-year who has ties to an ancient magic that’ll put you in conflict with a conspiracy involving the goblins and dark wizards. Fortunately, we won’t have to worry about Voldemort being the villain again, though we may learn more about his lineage at some point. It sounds exciting, and hopefully, we’ll see more of it in the coming months.

In other news, Netflix has revealed the release date for the upcoming Resident Evil series, and Quantic Dream has dismissed rumors that Star Wars Eclipse has been delayed until later this decade.
