PS5 Users in Europe and Australia Can Now Share Game Captures Through PS App

The ability to auto-upload and share PS5 game captures through the PS App is now available in Australia and Europe, Sony has confirmed. The feature is already available in the Americas and Japan. In order to activate it, make sure your iOS or Android app is up to date and your console has the latest firmware installed.

How PS5 game captures via PS App work

Once the feature is enabled, PS5 will automatically begin uploading your video game clips and screenshots to the cloud. They will then be available in the PS App for 14 days from the day they were created on your console. This feature is only applicable to non-4K videos under three minutes long and screenshots taken from the Create Menu or Create button shortcuts. You’ll be able to then share your captures with anyone on your PSN friends list or with parties via the PS App. You’ll also be able to download the screenshots and clips onto your mobile device, should you want to upload them to social media platforms.

If you haven’t already, make sure to link your console to your PS App first. The PS5 needs to be in rest mode with “Stay Connected to the Internet” setting enabled. On the PS App, make sure to go to Library > Captures and then select Enable. Finally, on your PS5, go to the media gallery and you’ll be greeted with a pop-up inviting you to enable the feature. If you don’t see the pop-up or didn’t accept it, then go to Settings > Captures and Broadcasts > Captures, and then turn on auto-upload. Simple enough!

In other news, a high-profile Microsoft executive may have accidentally “confirmed” the existence of PlayStation Game Pass rival (aka Project Spartacus), and it looks like A Plague Tale: Requiem is targeting a release window of June 2022.
