PS Plus: Here’s When the August 2022 New Games Come Out

It’s almost time for the new free PS Plus games to pop up on the PlayStation Store. Though things are now a little more complicated with the three subscription tiers, all members will gain access to this month’s Essential free PS5 and PS4 games. Those on the basic Essential tier, all the way up to the Premium sub, will receive this month’s three Essential games, once they are available to download and play. Here’s when the PS Plus August 2022 free games come out in ET and PT (US), BST (UK), and CEST (EU) time zones.

When can you download the August 2022 PS Plus games?

You can download the August 2022 PS Plus games on August 2 at the following times:

  • 10 AM ET
  • 7 AM PT
  • 3 PM BST
  • 4 PM CEST

While the above times are when most of the past monthly PS Plus games have been released, it’s very possible that there will be a delay lasting up to three hours. When waiting for the featured PS Plus games to drop, it’s extremely important that you don’t jump the gun and accidentally checkout with the game when they still have a price attached to them. This could result in an accidental purchase and an almost guaranteed headache in chasing up a refund with PlayStation Support. Again, wait until they are labeled clearly as “Free.”

It’s also worth remembering that there’s no immediate rush to add the games to your library. The August 2022 games of Yakuza: Like A Dragon, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, and Little Nightmares will be available up until September 6, giving users plenty of time.

Even if you don’t plan to play them anytime soon, it’s always worth adding the free PS Plus games to your library for the future.

In other PlayStation news, Ubisoft says that Skull and Bones won’t be a narrative-driven game. This fan-made Silent Hills Dreams creation shows what could have been. Here are all of the PS5 and PS4 August 2022 releases.
