It looks like Sony’s PlayStation Stars royalty program will have an exclusive, invite-only fifth tier but mystery surrounds this tier. The company hasn’t been particularly great in explaining new services and schemes (especially as of late), leaving players to fill in the blanks and figure things out themselves. Such is also the case with PlayStation Stars, which was first rolled out in Asia last week. Thanks to Asian players, we’ve already discovered that top members will receive priority customer support, which has already irked fans worldwide.
What we know about PlayStation Stars hidden “Diamond” tier
Sony originally said that PlayStation Stars will have four tiers. However, as reported by Reddit user the_andshrew, datamined information reveals that there’s a hidden fifth tier called “Diamond.” This information was dug out of the PlayStation mobile app, which is where players also discovered rewards like a digital collectible inspired by PS1’s iconic T-Rex tech demo.
“The 5th tier is called Diamond and has the requirements to reach it listed as invite-only to Diamond Level,” the_andshrew reported. The user backed up this discovery by sharing links to Diamond tier assets hosted on the official PlayStation website. Reaching level 5 will apparently reward players with a legendary collectible called Level 5 Diorama – Bots Don’t Breathe. An official description reads:
In an endless sea of stars, it seems like there’s nowhere to hide. But you wouldn’t be here if you let challenges like that stop you. Welcome to Level 5.
