Insomniac Games has said that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PS5 is still slated for release in 2023. The studio confirmed its release window while responding to a fan on Twitter, who expressed concerns about the game being delayed. A number of games including Sony’s first-party titles suffered from numerous delays in the aftermath of the pandemic. Little has been said about Spider-Man 2 since its announcement so fans are understandably worried. However, it doesn’t look like there’s anything to worry about right now.
Spider-Man 2 PS5 development is progressing well
“Don’t [worry],” Insomniac Games tweeted. “We’re making good progress and it’s still slated for 2023. Showing games takes time, effort, resources, and coordination.”
Given the studio’s recent track record, fans can expect a high-quality AAA blockbuster adventure whenever Spider-Man 2 does launch. Despite having multiple projects in the works simultaneously, Insomniac Games continues to release games that are well-received by fans and critics alike.
Dataminers recently found references to co-op and PvP in Spider-Man PC files, theorizing that Insomniac Games may be testing multiplayer elements for Spider-Man 2. Worth noting that Insomniac is separately developing a multiplayer game, which it has confirmed the existence of but has yet to announce. Speculation suggests that it’s a multiplayer game set in the Marvel universe.
