Following a leak in October, a Horizon multiplayer game is all but confirmed, if a series of new Guerrilla Games’ job advertisements is anything to go by. As spotted by Twitter user JorRaptor and ResetEra user modiz, the job ads mention an online project with a variety of “machines and humanoids” as enemies.
What we know about the Horizon multiplayer game so far
“Guerrilla is looking for a Lead World Designer to bring the expanding Horizon universe to a multiplayer audience,” reads one job description. This is the closest we have to an official announcement thus far.
“As a successful candidate, you will work closely with combat designers, animators, gameplay programmers and multi-disciplinary teams to create playable characters and a variety of enemies (Machines & Humanoids) that focus on exciting combat with cooperative elements,” reads the job description for Lead Combat Designer (Online Project).
As pointed out by JorRaptor, the large number of open vacancies for the online game suggests that it’ll be a while before it’s out. Nevertheless, this lines up with Sony’s recent push towards live service games. The Last of Us multiplayer game is also in production alongside the Horizon multiplayer title. Only the latter has yet to be formally announced.
