Sony and Bungie are working on “a number of unannounced projects,” according to Bungie’s senior design lead, Tom Farnsworth. From the sound of things, it looks like studio’s focus will be on live service games. Bungie is said to be creating a Destiny mobile game as well reviving its classic Marathon shooter series, but has not confirmed either of these reports.
Sony and Bungie to enhance PlayStation Studios’ live service capabilities
Sony has made no secret of the fact that it acquired Bungie to help expand PlayStation Studios’ live service capabilities – an area it has struggled with, especially compared to Microsoft. Showing off a shield awarded to him for 11 years of service at Bungie, Farnsworth noted that the studio has “completely changed” how it develops games, pivoting to live service.
This Shield is what 11 years at Bungie looks like. Each medal represents one of the 25+ Destiny releases we’ve shipped to millions of players. During that time we completely changed how we develop games and do business, moving from strictly boxed products to live service games. pic.twitter.com/XVab4UJmS1

“With the support of Sony we are working on a number of unannounced projects too,” Farnsworth added.
