Sony has announced that PlayStation 4 games will be joining the PlayStation Now streaming library later this year. A specific date wasn’t given, but a private beta test is scheduled to begin in the next few weeks. If you have an active subscription to the service, Sony says to keep an eye on your email in case you get an invitation to the beta test.
“We’re excited to announce that PS Now’s catalog is set to grow even further, as we’ll be expanding to include a new platform: PlayStation 4 games. All of the games in the service, including PS4 games, will be included with a single PS Now subscription. We’ll share more information as we get closer to launch, so stay tuned,” PlayStation Now Senior Marketing Manager Brian Dunn said.
Because PlayStation Now uses cloud saves, you’ll be able to start a game on PS4, then continue playing on another PS4 or Windows PC.
At the moment, there’s 483 PlayStation 3 games in the PlayStation Now catalog. Sony didn’t mention which PS4 games would be available on the service on day one.
Back in February, Sony announced that PlayStation Now would be dropping support for every device except PS4 and Windows PC on August 15.
